It is very important for a designer to have such qualities as empathy and intuition. Working on a private project involves a complete immersion in the “world” of the customer: how his life is arranged, what his schedule and lifestyle are. The customer himself, sometimes, is not quite sure how much he likes this or that design solution, but the designer should feel it on an intuitive level.
It is necessary not only to build a general design concept, but also to take into account every detail. For example, to understand where it is more convenient for a person to put a razor or put shampoo in order to provide a special shelf for this. I don’t think robots are capable of that.
However, the idea of using robots for business is very interesting, from the point of view of economics and timing, when we talk about large buildings.
I recently met with a famous French architect who produces unique collectible furniture, and he himself admitted that in his business, where most of the work is done by machines, human hands are still an indispensable factor.
After all, no matter how skillful and accurate machines are, they do not know how to feel the world the way a person feels it. They are not capable of having talent.
However, it should not be excluded that robots could become excellent service personnel. Although, even for a concierge service, a certain sensitivity and empathy are required, which not all people can boast of, let alone robots.
